Season 2

Fresh leaderboards, 2x game speed, twice as long runs, skins, pets and more to be announced — starts Sun September 13, 2026

1. Overview

Season 2 is the second competitive season of Epic Idle Quest 2. Like Season 1, it runs on a separate Temporal realm — a fresh, time-limited world where every character starts from scratch. No legacy gear, no head starts.

What is different this time: Season 1's headline modifier was double XP. Season 2 drops the XP bonus and gives you raw speed instead — fights resolve twice as fast, and runs hold twice as many fights.

When the season ends, Temporal characters merge into the permanent Eternal realm. Nothing is lost — items, gold, dust, skills, and unlocked skins all transfer. Final leaderboard ranks earn account-wide rewards that unlock on every character you ever play, on both realms.

More to come. Additional Season 2 features and the full reward list will be announced before launch. This page is updated as they land.

4. Season 2 Modifiers

Both modifiers apply to the Temporal realm only. The Eternal realm is untouched.

ModifierEternalTemporal (Season 2)
Game speed 1x 2x
Fights per run 500 1000
XP bonus

2x Game Speed

Fight rounds tick every 1 second instead of 2, and the pause between fights is halved as well. This applies to normal runs and to Nightmare fights. Combat itself is unchanged — the same rolls, the same damage, the same round cap. Only the clock moves faster.

1000 Fights Per Run

A run ends automatically once it hits the fight cap (loot kept, treated as a retreat). On Eternal that cap is 500 fights, which is roughly 3 hours. On Temporal it is 1000 — so at 2x speed a full run still takes about 3 hours, but it packs twice as many fights, and therefore roughly twice the loot, XP and gold.

Catch-up math: Season 1 doubled XP only. Season 2 doubles your whole throughput — XP, loot, gold and dust all come in about twice as fast per real hour. If anything, this is the stronger catch-up mechanic of the two.

No XP bonus

Unlike Season 1, there is no +100% XP modifier in Season 2. The XP you see per kill is the standard rate. You still level roughly twice as fast in wall-clock terms, because you fight twice as often.

The Boost ad bonus (+10% XP) works as usual and stacks on top.

5. Leaderboards

Season 2 has four independent leaderboards. Each is snapshotted at season end and persists permanently in the Hall of Fame.

BoardRanks byWho's eligible
PvE Player level Non-hardcore Temporal characters
PvP ELO rating Non-hardcore Temporal characters
Hardcore PvE Player level Hardcore Temporal characters (living + fallen)
Hardcore PvP ELO rating Hardcore Temporal characters (living + fallen)

6. Rewards

As in Season 1, Season 2 rewards are account-wide — once unlocked, they're available to every character on your account, present and future, on both realms. Your best rank across all four boards decides what you get.

To be announced. The exact Season 2 reward set — Champion and Participant skins and the season reward pet — is still being finalised and will be published here before the season starts. What is already confirmed: every player who creates a Temporal character and plays earns a participation reward, exactly as in Season 1.

For reference, the Season 1 reward set is documented on the Season 1 page, and season reward pets in general on the Pets page.

7. Season End — Merge to Eternal

At 20:00 CET on Fri November 13, 2026, Season 2 ends. Leaderboards freeze, reward eligibility is locked, and Temporal characters merge into the Eternal realm.

What transfers

What changes

What stays public

Strategy: Push hard for the top of any board you have a shot at — the entire final leaderboard is frozen and kept on the Hall of Fame permanently, so your placement is recorded for good no matter where you finish. And the participation reward only requires that you played — create a Temporal character on day one and you're guaranteed something.
